Layer Meetup Bayern connects consumer and prosumer 3D printing, additive manufacturing, maker culture, regional business, education and community. The format is not just a series of booths, but a practical experience and specialist format: visitors see devices, materials, applications and projects in direct comparison, talk to people from the field and gain concrete orientation for private, educational and professional use cases.
The overall Layer Meetup Bayern brand explicitly covers two areas: public access for consumers, families and makers, and professional access for manufacturers, retailers, education, regional companies and SMEs. The Community Layer Meetup is a separate special format within this overall brand.
Positioning
Consumer and prosumer 3D printing is no longer a niche topic. However, Germany has so far lacked a larger public event consistently dedicated to this segment. Based on our current research, we are not aware of any comparable event that brings together current devices, materials, applications, manufacturers and community in this practical, cross-manufacturer form.
Layer Meetup Bayern addresses exactly this gap: as an independent event format between industrial trade fair, general Maker Faire and classic community meetup.
Community Layer Meetup 2026
A public, accessible experience tour for beginners, families, makers, community and regional visitors. The format builds visibility, tests visitor guidance and creates the first strong contact point.
Layer Meetup Bayern 2027
A larger two-day main event with exhibitors, live demos, talks, specialist conversations, community areas and professional access for SMEs, education and companies.

Venue & catchment area
The main event takes place at the Altmühlsee Information Centre, Schlossstraße 4, 91735 Muhr am See, Germany. The location combines event spaces, courtyard, outdoor use, tourism surroundings and regional accessibility. Muhr am See railway station is around 0.5 km away; car parking is available on site.
Usable areas include the main hall/Dorfstadel with stage and projection surface, multimedia rooms, foyer, vaulted hall, courtyard and additional outdoor areas. This makes the venue suitable for exhibitor booths, live demos, talks, workshops, reception, networking, break areas and thematic stations.
